Mixed feelings on this one. I agree that we need to appreciate the fact that there are others worse off than we are, but I am not a fan of comparing ourselves to others. I think this has created other problems (ex. comparing weight for people of similar genders and ages and the resulting body image problems.) I believe we need to determine for ourselves what is important and pursue the various paths that take us in a better direction. I believe this enhances the quality of life without placing undo stress. It also helps us find happiness from within.
My take is it’s so easy to be happy by appreciating what we have. It needn’t take a lot to make us happy.
Powerful! I love this, and I think we need to appreciate what we have. I think that is the message here.
amen to that. My daughter just returned after 6 years in Mexico and she is so, so, thankful for so many things I take for granted
