Yes, we girls do have our fantasies and this was secretly mine.

I wanted a warrior strong enough to protect me from the evils of this world, afraid of nothing, but gentle in his strength, honorable, kind, loving, upholding the weak, giving selflessly of himself for others, loving and understanding me unconditionally, without deception and (if you happen to be as wild and independent as me) the only one who could tame me, to whom I would submit, not from fear but from love and respect.
A totally unreasonable list you think? Of course! I soon discovered, under the iron plate, even the best of men are but clay like me, but I did find my knight.

It’s his birthday tomorrow!

Why the Cat?

(From July 2014. My avatar used to be a cat – odd it’s now a bird! lol!)

Actually I’m a dog person, but it seemed appropriate, particularly as it is watching rather than participating. Apart from my Leo birth date I know myself well enough not to claim the endearing canine qualities of total dedication to one individual. My Chinese sign (a rabbit) apportions me the attribute of loyalty and I am loyal, but it’s a more complex than that.
Like the cat I tend to be a loner by nature, independent, fiercely protective of my “cubs” but not so romantic relationships etc. Catlike I’ll enjoy the comfort of a warm and loving hearth, be amiable and affectionate, drink my milk from a bowl, but underneath is the knowledge that I can hunt and make my own way when needed and under my soft padding feet are sheathed claws, razor sharp should they be required. Yes, I think a cat is apt.

Posted in honor of attending my first ever dog birthday party.

Us humans did get a free barbecue and a chance to chat as the doggies played. We even had the usual (though canine) party animal  (exploring point three) jump down into the little river at the back of the garden. Thankfully my grand daughter’s friends took on the job of trying to get him out!
