A song in the rain.

Standard

Sometimes our days are sunny, soft clouds bedeck the sky,
The path we take is easy, our spirits fly on high.
But some days it is raining, the clouds all black and grey,
Come rolling in beside us and soon disrupt our day.
Then let your voice rise upward and reach beyond the mist,
And find the sun there shining in golden lines amidst.
Embrace the tiny song bird as it sits within the rain,
Knowing in its feathered heart the sun will shine again.

Message to self.

My posts have been tending to get increasingly negative. While idealism and compassion are good and some things need to be exposed, this blog was intended as an expression of praise and gratitude. I need to get back to my original precept.

Song birds sing even when it rains!

In sickness and in health.

Thankfully I’m very seldom sick and then not for long. I’d been home with both my grandsons having bouts of flu one after the other, but my daughter and littlest grandson being away to visit daddy in Germany I was planing lots of busyness to “catch up”.
Then yesterday I woke up with a headache, sore throat and a runny nose trying to take over. I realized my plans needed to change.Stocking up on extra fruit etc. after my school cycle run, I headed for bed with huge volume of Dickens ( a Christmas gift I’d yet to indulge in)and my current favourite sickness remedial audios (Andrew Wommack’s “Christian Survival Kit”).
Whiling away the day till school pick up reading, listening and dozing I realized I was actually enjoying it immensely. I wasn’t sick, sick, just co operating with my body so it could fight better, my main symptom was extreme tiredness (my body monopolizing energy to fight the infection). In fact I realized this was something my mind and spirit really needed – chill time! I had a great day. Writing in my journal last night I thought just how crazy that was. I guess “in everything give thanks” came alive!

Given water any dessert becomes alive, the secret is to draw down the rain.

Desserts are quiet, still places and often breathtakingly beautiful, places to be alone with God.

The desert times of your life can be like that too, depending what you focus on. Forget survival! Let God take care of that.  Instead raise your eyes to the beauties of your situation. Rain down praise and positive thoughts and watch the transformation.

One of the most wonderful things to learn in life is how to bring the miracle of rain to those parched places. Create an oasis and watch the invisible seeds spring into blossom!

The meaning behind your blog name?

LOL! Well I think this one is pretty straight forward, I love to read other’s stuff (and books etc. etc.) and I also enjoy writing very much.

Song Bird (my other blog) Is because I love to sing God’s praises while spiritually and emotionally flying high  above the problematic world. I really like the picture for this site (just wish I could figure how to get it displayed on the home page somehow) It shows two birds flying with one turning its head as if chatting to the other – my idea of life, flying high and sharing gems of knowledge, praise and love.
