Living Fountains

fount

A life filled with God’s spirit is like a fountain. It may turn and twist, swirl and flow, breaking forth sometimes in leaping cascades when channeled through a narrow place.

If your life has been through “narrow pipes” recently maybe it is so you can burst forth in leaping heights and shower many with your cool blessings,

Even constraints have their uses. The restricted flow and pressure forces them upward to burst forth in splendor!

(“Out of their belly shall flow living fountains!”)

Song Bird Songs

Listen to the song of the waters. Did you know waters sing? Think of the song of the ocean, rippling streams, the soft flow of the river, even the rhythmic drip of a leaky tap. Water sings in its yieldedness, rejoices in its path. It knows no fear, cannot be destroyed, only transformed. Ancient of ancients, here since the beginning, sometimes frozen and still, biding its time; sometimes evaporated journeying through the air. This transformation is difficult but the journey shows far vistas that would have remained unseen had it not risen.
Like life water takes all shapes and sizes. It is the situations through which it passes that change, that over time are transformed by its presence. Things around are stagnant, unmovable (save by its passage) but it flows freely into any mold or shape, seeking the lowliest ground for there it shall progress the faster.

Water meditations.

Water flows onward, as it has since its beginning in its never ending cycle of cleansing, soaring, falling and flowing ever seeking the humble path. As it wonders it embraces the earth, carrying fragments in its remembrance toward the all encompassing ocean, its surface capturing and reflecting the surrounding beauty. I love the water. I wish to find myself reflected there.

Listen to the song of the waters. Did you know that waters “sing”? They do. Think of the sound of the ocean, a rippling stream, the soft flow of the river, even the rhythmic drip of a leaky tap.
Water sings in its yieldedness, rejoices in its path, not fearful for it cannot be destroyed only transformed. Sometimes it is frozen and still, biding its time. Sometimes it evaporates and journeys through the air. Though this transformation is difficult the ride is heavenly.
Water takes all shapes and sizes. It is the situations through which it passes that change, even they over time are transformed by its presence. Things around us are stagnant, unmovable (save for our presence) but we can just flow freely into any mould or shape.
Enjoy water as it cleanses and invigorates. See yourself like a rippling brook, not big enough to drown in, but pleasant to the eye and ear, refreshing to the skin. Flow on the paths set before you seeking the lowliest ground for there you shall progress the faster.

Autumn’s Waterfalls.

autumn falls 010

Gushing forth in splendid surges of scarlet, they emerge from their unbeknownst  obscurity, tracing their patterns of crimson growth on dark green leaf canvas.

autumn falls 003

Trailing flower like they fall as water over spilling its confines

in radiant splashes of color.

autumn falls 007

Like tongues of volcanic fire they burst upon the eye en-flaming the landscape.

The Waterfall

rhine falls switzerland

It falls; it tumbles, to the ground, refreshing, splashing, mist
Enfolds you in its mighty arms embraces in each kiss
No arm constricts it in its flow as joyful tumble sounds
A rushing torrent still persists; its borders over bound.

So let our lives in humble grace o’er flow these earthly bounds
And so refresh all those beneath as they come tumbling down
And let each breath we freely breathe, be fresh upon the air,
The blessed truth He came to give for all around to share.

Life’s torrents ebb and flow to all and many a fall ensnare.
But do not fear the falls, but meet Him laughing through the air
And as you tumble far below you’ll find much space you’ll meet
Restrictions, walls, forever gone, you soon will find your feet.

And in the heady flow of life continue on your course
Through many a glade or sunlit field, you’ll find it good not worse
Till gushing on you one day sense the salt upon the air
Your journey o’er, you breathless rush, for He is waiting there.
